WHAT IS THE LEARNING SERIES ‘CHANNEL’?
The Learning (about teaching online) Series is practical and developmental. The focus here is on systematically acquiring the skills to become an accredited online practitioner. The articles have been developed for, or by, practising educators involved in professional development courses about teaching in higher education. Each article has undergone peer review and academic quality checking.
Articles deal in various ways with topics that promote professional development in online learning and teaching. We group articles into three levels of expertise across four topics.
Each article covers one, or a combination, of the following perspectives:
- Digital Literacy or ‘Digacy’: the development of the baseline skills needed to teach online
- Best Practice: the pedagogy of delivering to learners who are online
- Skills Audits: the practical skills needed for e-learning, e-teaching and e-assessing
- Theory Audits: the theoretical frameworks for and about e-teaching
